XT-66 

The XT66 is an aluminium window system developed by AMS (Architectural & Metal Systems,  Ireland). It’s designed for high-performance, energy-efficient and secure use in both  commercial and institutional buildings (e.g. school buildings, public buildings) and also can be  adapted for high-end residential use. The system is “eco-friendly” in that the aluminium  profiles contain a significant proportion of recycled material.  

  • The system is built around a patented thermal break technology (i.e. insulating barrier  between the interior and exterior aluminium to reduce heat transfer)
  • With suitable glazing, the XT66 system can reach very low U-values (i.e. high insulation  performance). The casement version is quoted as achieving U-values as low as 0.92  W/m²·K in some configurations. 
  • The Performance Plus variant claims even further improvements: for instance, for tilt &  turn, U-values down to 0.81 W/m²·K are cited in certain glass configurations.
